YB Lock In

Our SJBCI Youth is hosting our first ever LOCK IN.

What: Lock In
When: Aug.15-16, 2011 / 3pm
Where: SJBCI Building 311 Oakcrest Ave. Pitman, NJ 
Why: Evangelism Training and Application
Who:  High School, College, Young Adults, Adults 

DESCRIPTION

SJBCI is holding a Lock-In on August 15-16, starting 12pm at SJBCI Building (311 Oakcrest Ave. Pitman, NJ). The event is specifically for High School Students, but college, young adults, and adults are more than welcome to join and attend. We will focus on Evangelism, which will include both training and application. 

Monday will be a day of evangelism training. A guest speaker, Santei diLeonardo, will be giving his testimony, sharing his experience on spreading the gospel, and speaking about evangelism. We will then train the youth on how to use the methods that Santei, Sarah, and Gerryboy learned from Campus Crusade for Christ to share the gospel. There will also be simple praise and worship sets and times for the different youth groups to fellowship and get to know each other. We will have a short session for open mic, for the youth to share their experiences or a song about what they’ve learned throughout the summer. Food will be provided as well. Sleeping arrangements include the boys and girls being separated into two large rooms, where assigned leaders will ensure that everyone stays in their rooms. 

Tuesday will be a day of application. We will head down the shore and take what we learned from training to evangelize. The shore provides an environment where we aren’t as visible so that the youth can get comfortable sharing with people. It also gives us the opportunity to be surrounded by many people in a public domain. Breakfast will be provided before we head down to the shore. However, lunch will not be provided and must be acquired on your own. There will be places at the boardwalk for the youth to eat at. We will depart from the shore around 3-4pm. 

What You’ll Need

• An overnight back
•  a change of clothes
• a red shirt (which will help us easily identify the youth at the shore)
• a sleeping bag
• bible and notebook
• some pocket money
• *note: no showers are provided

Rules at the Shore

• no swimming
• no suntanning
• no shopping
• no walking around aimlessly
• we are strictly there to evangelize.

•   3:00 – Welcome
• 3:15 – Praise & Worship
• 3:30 – IceBeaker
• 4:00 – Testimony & Evangelism:  Santei
• 4:45 – Break
• 5:00 – Break-Out Sessions/3 Groups
• 5:45 – Dinner
• 6:45 – Open Mic/ Testimonies/songs 
• 7:30 – Questions/ Rules/ What to expect tomorrow/ Group Assignments for next day
• 8:00 – Break-Out for Prayer Groups
• 8:30 – Praise & Worship  
• 8:45 – Fellowship while Leaders Meet
• 9:30 – Group Game
• 11:00 – Go to assigned sleeping areas
• 12:00 – Lights Out

Tuesday:

• 9:00 – Morning Devotion
• 9:30 – Breakfast
• 10:30 – Leave for Shore
• 11:30 – Touch base/ Divide and Conquer/Group Prayer
• 2:30 – Meet Up 
• 3:00 – Leave for home
