Word Ministry :: DVBS
Daily Vacation Bible School

It is of highest importance to us to spread the message of God's love to even the youngest of our members. That is why we have devoted a whole week to our Daily Vacation Bible School program held every summer.

It is a continued tradition that we look forward to every summer as the whole church works together to bring a fresh, vibrant, and nourishing experience for our children, teaching them the ABC's of salvation, and bringing them closer to the knowledge of Jesus.

We partner with LifeWay Ministries by using their DVBS material.

We are very pleased with the turnout from last year's DVBS. We pray that the seeds that were planted in each child continues to be nourished, and hopefully we'll see them again this summer! With that said, the theme this year was :

We thank all those who came to this year's DVBS; we hope you were all blessed! We also thank God for the committed workers who taught, who helped, who cooked, cleaned, and participated with us this year! We were blessed because you have been a blessing!

Here are some testimonies from previous year participants.

Paula Tan: I've been going to DVBS at SJBCI for a few years now. I've learned so much about how people around the world share God's Word. I've been inspired to do so many things because of the DVBS. It's so great going there. It is like a week of summer camp. You meet new people, make new friends, and mostly, have fun! I sure did. And I can't wait till the next one.

Vanessa Murphy: Over the past years of DVBS was a great experience. We learned all about having faith, believing, and having strength Jesus. Some of the verses that we had learned are John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and whoever shall believe in Him shall not perish but have enternal life." and John 1:14 "So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfullness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son." In DVBS, we did crafts, games, and other things which all had a point of doing these activities that all relate to Jesus. There is a station in DVBS where we watch videos of kids our ages and adults reach out to people. Helping spreading the word. Not only did they tell about God's word, they changed peoples lives. These people have gave me and my friends to have the courage to speak out and spread about God's word. Tell them that you could be saved if you listen to God's word and obey him. God did the most amazing thing that nobody could ever do. He promised us something great that noone in the world can change that. Not only did going to DVBS give me the courage to reach out to people, but it helped me make new friends who are now my best friends.

Camille Nable: I have been to every DVBS in SJBCI. And every summer I got to know more and more about God and His miracles. The DVBS has helped me to know Christ and to accept Him as my Lord and savior. DVBS was alot of fun and there I made alot of friends. It was something I looked forward to doing in the summer.

Darielle Nable: Every summer I always look forward to DVBS. Why!? Cause it sooo fun! All the classes are so exciting and at the same time, you learn about Jesus. I've been going to the DVBS's at Pitman for several years, and every year it brings me closer to God. I'm glad that we have DVBS because its one week out of the whole summer that I never forget.

Rianne Cueto: When I first encountered the REAL Jesus, I was in third grade. I went to a summer bible study called DVBS: Amazon Outfitters. At first, I thought that this would be another boring churcheven I would be dragged to, where I didn't understand anything the priest would be saying. But this was different. I understood for the first time, what Jesus and God and the bible was about. When I went to service in SJBCI, and then eventually joined the Church of the Good Shepherd, my relationship with God, Jesus, and the church in general became REAL. It was personal, and I learned that that was all it was about. It was being personal with God. It was much more better than sitting in church and listening to some stranger I didn't know ramble on and on about random passages, without never explaining why it was relevant to ME. Now I know. Jesus is relevant to ME, because everything He did, everything God asked Him to do, He did because of ME. I'm the reason for Him. And the feeling that someone would love you as much as Jesus did... well it's just the most incredible feeling I could ever experience.
