A Sacred Assembly: Another One Coming
We want to thank the church for supporting the call of having a sacred assembly last Sept. 6 from 10am-2pm.  Instead of having a picnic on that date, we decided to follow Joel 1:14: “Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly…”  Thirty six people showed up and spent time in prayer and meditation of God’s Word.  What a holy choice!

Watch out for another assembly in November.  We’re planning to have another one on Thanksgiving Day.  This time, fasting is in the morning and sacred assembly will start at 9am and ends at 12pm.  Lord’s Supper Celebration will be conducted and then the church will have Thanksgiving Lunch together.  Then dismiss at around 2pm for each family to have a thanksgiving dinner of their own.

Simple Budget and Planning Meeting
All church leaders and officers are reminded of the forth coming budget and planning meeting on October 30 from 10am-4pm.  Please prepare your activity plans with corresponding budget requests for better assimilation in our total budget and planning.  Please bring all existing written guidelines, policies your particular ministry has developed and followed for review, posting and filling purposes.  We are updating our record systems.

Body and Soul Cleaning This Saturday
Instead of meeting at Sis. Minda’s house for BODY AND SOUL, the WMU are requesting that volunteers will meet at the church building around 9am Oct.2, Saturday, as there will be a cleaning of the building in preparation for our annual Church anniversary that following Saturday.  Exercise will take the form of cleaning to upbeat music to make the chore more enjoyable.

Choir Announcements
Practices for Christmas Cantata are full on the way!!  Those interested in joining for this year’s cantata is welcome to join every Sunday afternoon 1pm after Agape. 

Also, please come next Sunday for final practice for our choral numbers prepared for our church anniversary. 

Judgment House
Suggestions to host “Judgment House” was introduced today.  We’ll need a lot of participation and volunteers for this project to occur, so please contact or see Sis.Ligaya ASAP.  Also, please join and come to experience the event yourself.  Dates are as follows for October:  23, 24, 30, 31. 

**Body and Soul
The WMU has started an activity which aims to reach both body and soul.  A devotion before physical exercises every Saturday @ 9am SJBCI church.  Contact Sis. Juvie.  A separate post will be constructed to show the monthly schedule and what fitness is offered that month.  Cardio, Zumba & P90 are a few of what will be included in the line up.  Watch out for it! 

Choir Number Next Sunday May 23
The choir is reminded to come to church on time next Sunday to give a number before the preaching.  Choir robes will be worn.

May 28-29: SJBCI Building usage
TCGSCH requested the use of the building for these dates for the preparation of a wedding, so please schedule around it.

**May 31: Church Picnic
Picnic will start with a devotional period beginning at 9am.  Please come on time so you may be able to maximize your moments with the brethren around.

May 30: Church Service: Veterans Tribute
Our church wants to give a special tribute to all our members’ relatives, family, or friends who are veterans.  These special people in our lives have fought for their countries, and given their lives to serve such an admirable cause.  Please come on the 30th to pay tribute.  If you have any family members who are veterans, please see TJ Jardinico to collect their pictures and information.  Help would be greatly appreciated.

May 22: Extravagant Praise @ Cherry Hill TCGS
Everyone is invited for TCGSCH for their night of extravagant praise, a night of music and worship.  Our praise team will also be leading some songs that night.

Sunday School & Prayer Before Worship:
We encourage everyone to come to Sunday School and be a part of prayer before Worship Service which proves to be very enriching.  Additionally, please join the ongoing Bible studies about prayer.  Great things are happening in our Sunday groups, and we don’t want you to miss them.

Membership Class:
Membership Classes for those interested in joining SJBCI are being conducted.  Prospective members are encouraged to go through C.O.M.E. (Church Offering Model of Equipping), an introduction to what SJBCI is all about.

Feeding the Homeless:
Every last Monday of the month.  Contact Sis. Ligaya.

Nominating Committee Meeting:
Procedures for this year’s election of leaders and officers will be finalized.

Operation Manila:
3 more remaining FLOOD Drives every Saturday of October.  The drop off date for October 17 will be at the Berlin Farmer’s Market for those interested.  The remaining drop off dates will be at the SJBCI building.

SJBCI Anniversary: Oct.10
SJBCI Anniversary Worship service will start at 2:30pm.  Dr. Hal Hopkins will be our speaker.

Christmas Cantata Choir
Those interested in singing for this year’s Christmas Cantata (Dec.19), please stay after Agape every Sunday for practice.  Preparations have already started so please see Sis. Marchesa if you’re interested in joining. 

Nominating Committee
We request the members of the nominating committee to reconvene and prepare the process for this year’s election of church leaders and officers.  Rachelle is still in the Philippines and cannot prepare the list of qualified persons for the Nominating Committee nominations.  Pastor will meet with the committee next Sunday for briefing.

Church Anniv. Ad-Hoc Com. Meeting
Food, physical arrangements and promotion/invitation Com. of Ad-Hoc Com. are requested to please meet for updates and progress reports during Agape meal.

Anniv. Ad-Hoc Com. Meeting
The committee has met last Sunday and is reminded to form his/her teams to progress with the delegated responsibilities for our upcoming 21st church anniversary.

TCGS Cherry Hill Anniversary
Everyone is invited to go and join their 8th anniversary on Sept. 13 @ 4:30pm.

PBCI Anniversary
Pastor Roger is extending the invitation for everyone to come and join them on September 26.

Choir
Our choir members are asked to come for practices these upcoming Sundays to prepare for the two songs that will be rendered on our church anniversary.  Those willing to join our choir are also asked to come to practices every Sunday after Agape.  Please see Sis. Marchesa.

The Church of the Good Shepherd in Cherry Hill Anniversary
Sept. 6 (Sunday).  We encourage everyone to join the celebration and rejoice with them for this gracious work of God.  It’s a Sunday because the pace they are renting has activities on Saturday.

Philadelphia Bible Church International Anniversary
Our daughter church in N.Philadelphia under the leadership of Pastor Roger Manao will celebrate its founding anniversary of Sept. 26.  We encourage everyone to go and join this celebration.

Baptist Men Fellowship

Choir Announcements

1. Thank God for the wonderful work He has done last Sunday for Be My Guest.  Many have come for worship and severa persons made the decision for Christ.
2. Pray that today’s worship be one that exalts God and will lift up Jesus.
3. Pray that God’s special visitation, we call REVIVAL, finally be ushered in.

Family Retreat:
Reminder that the retreat is this coming Sunday-Tuesday (12-14).  Facilities are open for that Sunday if you want to come earlier but check in times for the rooms remain strictly in the late afternoon.  Continue to pray for this weekend.
