Big Brother, Big Sister Program

With the influx of new Young Believers, we’ve created the Young Believers BBBS Program. Each older youth was assigned a little brother/sister.

This month, the weekly assignment is to call your little brother/sister once each week for at least five minutes. In turn, little brothers/sisters must pray for their older B/S for at least 5 minutes once each week.

YB Garage Sale Fundraiser

We’re having a fundraiser for the YB, a garage sale, so please gather ALL the things you don’t need and put them in boxes that we could collect by next week. Clean out your room and closets. Ask your parents and neighbors.

We’ll also ask the rest of the church members if they want to contribute anything to the garage sale.

I ask you guys, next sunday to:

1) make posters
2) collect in boxes (your stuff and pick up some stuff from the members if they can’t drop it off)
3) if you can make some phone calls to the members, that would be awesome!

BASIC 2008

We, the Young Believers of South Jersey Bible Church (SJBCI), would like to invite you to join us for our BASIC event. BASIC stands for Brothers And Sisters in Christ and it is a time in which we give the opportunity for believers to fellowship with churches in surrounding states. It’s also a time of fellowship & ministering to one another through songs of praise, testimonies and meditation on the word.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: We have asked Mike Licona to be our speaker this year. He is a New Testament historian, author and Christian Apologist. He is the author of the award winning book, “The Case of the Resurrection Jesus”. We are also blessed with two speakers from the Pennsylvania-South Jersey Baptist Convention, Rev. Stan Williams and Brian Musser.

This is the 5th time we’re having BASIC and it has different meaning to people who have attended it in the past:

“BASIC is an event for all young people to gather to praise and worship God , to meet new people in faith. and leave with a new heart that has God somewhere in it.”

“Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Its my buddy list group name for all my new Christian friends, my youth groups and anybody I met through Christ. This has a lot of meaning because the words brothers and sisters means more than anything. It means helping one another’s faith & relationship with God grow stronger , not farther. No matter what”

THEME: The theme this year is “Defending the Faith,” apologetic messages providing us with practical tools for cognitive discussion of why we believe in God.

BASIC will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Rowan University on August 9. The event will begin at 12 PM and will end at 6 PM. Also this event is free and OPEN TO ALL (middle school kids and up) who wish to come. Join us for a time of fun, food, fellowship and worship.

We’d really love to have you guys be part of this event! We hope to see you there!
