Operation Manila
SJBCI Relief Effort for the Philippine Victims of Typhoon Ondoy

Remaining Drop Off Dates:
Oct.24

  • Please drop of your donations at Berlin Farmer’s Market.  We are trying to convert the clothing donations into cash for a more efficient way to send help to Manila.  Whatever we don’t sell, we’ll consolidate in a ‘balikbayan box’ for sending before the end of October.
  • To help out, you can also come to the BFMarket to make a purchase.  Your sale will greatly help and will go towards Operation Manila.

Oct.31

  • 10:30am-1:30pm @ SJBCI Building

Due to the overwhelming response from our FLOOD Drive from Oct.3, the Witness Ministry of SJBCI organized Operation Manila.  This relief effort is the main branch that will handle all the incoming donations, communication, and distribution of goods.

The FLOOD Drive from Oct.3 was a huge success, having collected clothes, canned goods, vitamins, money, etc.  But because of the overwhelming number of clothes donated, the committee created a more efficient way to handle the donations, in order to expedite the process of sending the donations.  Additionally, due to the immediate need, we do stress giving monetary donations, as it will quickly provide for their specific needs.

If you are interested to donate (food, clothing, money), please review the following options:

For groups/organizations:

  • please collect the donations and provide your own ‘balikbayan box’ (mailing box), along with postage fee to send it.
  • you can then drop it off at the SJBCI building by contacting us, and we will then send the donations for distribution.
  • you can also send your donations (food and non-food items) directly to the LCSBC office, which is the organization with who we coordinate.  More information on this below.
  • if you cannot provide the shipping fee, please contact our chairperson.
  • make sure you receive a donation form for your personal record.

For individual donations:

  • you can also provide your own ‘balikbayan box’ and postage as well, for huge amounts of items.
  • if you cannot send it, or if you have a smaller amount of items to donate, you can drop it off during one of our drop off dates below.  We will collect and send it for you.
  • you can also send your donations (food and non-food items) directly to the LCSBC office, which is the organization with who we coordinate.  More information on this below.
  • make sure you receive a donation form for your personal record.

Donation Forms:

  • For personal records, you can request a donation form from SJBCI stating your donation.  Please email: leo121_46@msn.com.
